Rooted in compassion.
Driven by purpose.

New Hope Cancer Support Foundation exists because a cancer diagnosis should never mean facing the unknown alone — financially, emotionally, or educationally. We are here, and this work is deeply personal to us.

Passionate

We don't show up because it's a job. We show up because we've been there and we know what it means to have someone in your corner.

Intentional

Every dollar, every resource, every conversation is purposeful. We don't do things halfway when someone's life is on the line.

Dignified

Everyone we serve is treated with full humanity and deep respect, not as a case number, but as a person who matters.

OUR STORY

Why New Hope exists.

New Hope Cancer Support Foundation was established with a simple but powerful mission: to ensure that no cancer patient or caregiver in our community faces their journey alone. Founded in 2026 by a group of dedicated and compassionate community members, the foundation was created to provide meaningful support, connection, and resources to those navigating the challenges of cancer.

Recognizing the gap left by the closure of the Columbus Cancer Care Foundation, we felt a strong responsibility to step forward and continue serving local patients and families in need. Our goal is to offer both practical assistance and a sense of hope during an incredibly difficult time.

As a first step, we are providing financial support through $50 gift cards to help offset everyday expenses—whether that’s fuel for trips to treatment or essential household needs. While we are starting small, our vision is anything but. With the support of our community, we are committed to expanding our programs and services to meet the growing needs of cancer patients and their caregivers.

We believe no one should have to face cancer alone, which is why we’re building strong, meaningful connections within our community. By partnering with compassionate individuals and organizations, we’re able to offer support that truly makes a difference for patients and their caregivers.

One of the ways we do this is by helping provide wigs to those experiencing hair loss during treatment. Through our partnership with Karla’s Krowns, founded by Karla Pelster, patients are given more than just a wig—they’re given a sense of confidence, comfort, and dignity during an incredibly difficult time.

Our executive board is composed of individuals who bring both professional expertise and deeply personal experiences—whether working closely with cancer patients, surviving cancer themselves, or caring for a loved one. Each member is driven by a unique and heartfelt reason for serving. In addition, our advisory board of passionate volunteers plays a vital role in helping us grow, organize impactful events, and build meaningful connections within the community.

Together, we are building something rooted in compassion, resilience, and hope—for today, and for every journey ahead.

She serves on the New Hope Cancer Support Foundation Board to support fellow cancer fighters and their caregivers, inspired by her own deeply personal experience. With a family history of cancer and the loss of her mother-in-law in 2010, Victoria’s connection to this mission runs deep. In 2014, shortly after the birth of her son, Kyler, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Her treatment included chemotherapy, radiation, and brachytherapy (internal radiation), and she continues to live with some long-term side effects. Today, she is proud to be both surviving and thriving, and is passionate about offering support and encouragement to others facing similar journeys.

With over 20 years of experience in payroll, accounting, and tax services, Victoria takes a hands-on approach to helping individuals navigate their financial needs and build strategies tailored to their unique situations. Originally from Nebraska City, she moved to Columbus in 2012 with her husband, Cody.

Outside of work and her role as Treasurer of the Foundation, Victoria enjoys supporting Kyler in his activities, including baseball, basketball, football, and 4-H. When she finds time for herself, she enjoys reading, outdoor adventures with her family, and playing sand volleyball.
